The early years...
 

Bud and Bernice Goulet opened Bud's in 1940! They served burgers and hot dogs, rented boats and shanties, and even sold bait and tackle! Years later, the business was passed down to their son, Bud.

 

Bud Jr., an outstanding restaurateur, changed their offerings to specialize in steaks and seafood! People came from all over to enjoy his food and see the ice fishermen and racers in the winter. He later sold the waterfront business to Bob and Anita McRae.

The McRae's transformed the tavern into a summertime destination. With the addition of outdoor dining, summers are busy with cars lined down the street to enjoy great food, cold beer, friendly service, sunshine and live music. Bayside, a longtime local family-favorite, brings a unique, fun and comfortable dining experience to Fair Haven.

Today

 

The McRae family and team continue to deliver hospitable service and great food. The crew, 5-time consecutive champs, win the annual Taste Fest in town (each time they participate), affirming the position of "best around"! The patronage of seasonal newcomers and loyal regulars keep it all going.
